Flower/Inflorescence: bloom June - July, whire and blue flowers; funnel shaped, round-top umbel

Fruit/Seed: capsule 

Stem/Bark: thick, round stems

Size:  height 1 - 4ft, spread 1 - 3ft

Habit: dense, clumping 

Form: upright, swooping come autumn 

Culture: herbaceous perennial, full sun - partial shade, fleshy rooted rhizome, some cultivars evergreen, not hardy in Vancouver 

Landscape Use:  ornamental, foliage attractive after flowers bloom
