Leaf/Bud: evergreen, flat sprays of scales, green - glaucous, narrow white stomatal bands on underside of sprays, pungent scent 

Flower/Inflorescence:  female cones 7-14mm, globose, male cones 3-4mm dark brown/red

Stem/Bark: brownish - red bark 

Size: up to 60m 

Habit: upright 

Form: pyramidal 

Culture: full sun - partial shade, well-drained soil
