Leaf/Bud: deciduous, palmate, 3 or 5 lobes, rounded apex, serrate margin, long thick petiole flared at base 

Flower/Inflorescence: hollow fleshy structure called a syconium, which is filled with many uni-sexual florets - not visible the bloom is inside 

Fruit/Seed: numerous one seeded drupelets - fruit that is eaten is false fruit  

Stem/Bark: smooth light brown bark 

Size: height 7 - 10m 

Habit: upright 

Form: open horizontal branching, dense 

Culture: full sun - part shade, can grow in low nutrient soil, well-drained

Landscape Use: tree or shrub 

Notes: pollinated by a fig wasp - specialized
